Embryo Donation can be used to achieve pregnancy thanks to donated embryos from other couples.
How are embryos selected?
Embryos donated by a couple are subject to the same health criteria as gamete donors. The waiting time depends on the available embryos and is usually between two to four months.
The embryos are previously vitrified and are transferred to the recipient after adequate endometrial preparation.
Embryo reception: The process
When a couple, or a woman, requests the ‘adoption’ of donated embryos, they are put on the waiting list and we check the availability of embryos. The treatment is scheduled, once we have embryos available.
The treatment consists of preparing the uterus for the embryo reception, whether it is performed during a natural cycle, or with exogenous hormones and subsequent embryo thawing and transfer.
The embryos are transferred through the cervical canal to the uterus, without previous sedation. The embryos are deposited in the fundus of the uterus where they will implant. The procedure does not hurt and it is very fast.
Thanks to the continuous investment in the latest technology, every stage of the treatment is performed at the clinic, which reduces the waiting times and increases the chances of pregnancy.
The monitoring of the treatment is done in an efficient and secure way, maintaining patient privacy.
If the patient decides to interrupt the treatment, we commit to reimbursing the portion of the treatment that has yet to be completed.
